dangerous cosmetics

A very large number of the artificial fragrances and chemicals in your day-to-day applications of body care products have crazy long names that don’t make any sense to people like you or me–but our skin absorbs up to sixty percent of them, and they are all potentially harmful.

Once these chemicals are absorbed in our bodies they are stored in the fatty tissues which can lead to a whole host of potential problems.

The only solution is to avoid these chemicals!

Read the label and avoid purchasing any product that contains:

Parabens
Parabens are estrogen mimickers and chemical preservatives that are found in almost ALL cosmetic and body care products.

Some parabens used in topical products have been found in human breast tumors.

Also, it is very common for people to have a paraben allergic sensitivity.

DMDM Hydantoin, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Quaternium 15
These are all chemical preservatives that potentially release trace amounts of formaldehyde into your skin.  This can lead to many health problems including joint discomfort and contact dermatitis.

Triethanolamine (TEA)
This chemical, which is used quite often as a PH adjuster in cleansers and cosmetics, may cause hair and skin dryness, irritation of the eyes, and allergic reactions.

Artificial Fragrances
Artificial fragrances are manufactured from petrochemicals and can strip the skin of its natural protection an irritate it and also cause headaches and complications asthmatically.

FD&C, D&C And Other Synthetic Colors
These synthetic colors can be carcinogenic.

Phthalates
These chemicals accumulate in the skin and can lead to an increased risk of abnormalities in reproduction.

Phthalates can be found in nail polish, perfumes, and hair sprays.

Read the labels on your body care products carefully to avoid these chemicals.

Try and find an all-natural line of cosmetics that fit your personal preference as they are much, much healthier for you and the environment.
