The first thing that you want to do though is really learn about this disease so that you can handle everything much easier. Genital warts are the most common sexually transmitted disease that is caused by a virus. Sometimes referred to as condyloma acuminata, these growths are gray in color and can be found around the genital area and the anal region on both women and men. The virus that causes the warts is the human papillomavirus, otherwise known as HPV. The warts can affect men and women at any age and the warts will not always be present in a person infected with this disease.
As soon as anyone realizes that they have genital warts, they automatically want to know what genital warts treatment they can use and how they can cure it. Sadly, at this present time there is no cure for genital warts but it is being worked on which is proven to be very hopeful. There are however some things out on the market for the treatment of the condition. As far as self care at home there really is not a lot to be done. Luckily for those suffering with the warts, there is not much else in terms of symptoms other then the appearance of the warts.
You will want to make sure that you are taking all precautions that you can in order to prevent trauma from hitting the area where the warts are. This is simply to prevent bleeding. There are some medical treatments out there that can be taken advantage of such as cryotherapy. This is a technique that freezes the wart with liquid nitrogen. Just as someone would have the warts on their hands freeze dried off, they would have it done to their genital warts.
Not everyone is up for a little freezing with liquid nitrogen. This is why there are starting to become so many other ways to deal with genital warts treatment. If you are suffering from genital warts but want to refrain from the major surgeries or laser treatments then you are in luck. With so many researchers on the job of trying to find ways to deal with this disease, there are always new creams that can be applied topically within the comfort of your own home. Even though the creams cannot completely rid your body of the disease, it can help take away the sight of the warts.
While many people can get over the fact that they will be a carrier of an HPV that carries with it genital warts in some cases, they still do not want to look at the problem. Taking advantage of all of the different creams and lotions is a good idea. So much time and energy is being spent creating these for people with genital warts that it would almost be a shame to not give their latest advancements in genital warts treatment a try.
