Head Lice Treatment and Proper Removal
Mar 9th, 2009 | By Will Allen | Category: Head Lice, RemediesA person with head lice really needs treatment as soon as possible. There can be three possible ways to do this. One is using the traditional way such as combing methods and the next is the use of natural and lastly pesticide based solutions. These will likely remove them when properly done. Here are some of the ways to make a head lice treatment and the proper removal measures.
If the person having lice is a male, the best way to remove them is by cutting off their hair. This will automatically remove any lice that live and treatment is 100 percent effective. This of course, however applies only to male persons. With a female host, it is likely not that simple.
Head lice treatment is usually needed by young girls. Young girls are prone to this problem but shaving the head cannot be an option. The hair can only be trimmed, this way the lice can be removed easier due to a shorter place they can stay. Lice don’t like an insufficient temperature of short hairs.
There are mechanical ways to remove head lice. One is by using a comb which is fine-toothed to rake them out. This method is proven to be very effective in removing head lice. There are some ways to add potency to the mechanical method. To get an easier removal process, the hair can be soaked in a conditioner added with olive oil to easily comb the hair. You can comb it with the ordinary comb first to entangle those stubborn strands and proceed with the fine comb. The process needs to be started from the root up to the end of the hair. This can be the cost-effective way of removing head lice. The process can be repeated every three days only to lessen the chances of irritating the scalp and the possibly wounding the skin.
Alternatively, there is another method of head lice treatment. You can use pesticide- based solutions that are made for removing head lice. It can be used easily but you must know first if it has side effects. The person having lice might have irritations and possible allergies on using pesticide based products, so it is best to check first if allergies develop before using the treatment. Some adults can also have this complication. With proper knowledge, head lice can be removed easily in just a day if using and following the proper methods of removal. Each person has their own tolerance against chemicals. If it’s not that crucial, you can proceed to both methods and take the pesticide-based approach only as your last resort.
Another remaining option can be a natural treatment such as plants, herbs, and flowers to help remove the lice from the hair. Substances such as tea tree oil and Ylang Ylang oils can also be used. These essential oils can easily work wonders upon application of an infested hair.
Choosing the right head lice treatment for you depends on how your hair and scalp reacts to each treatment. As always, it is always best to consult your doctor first.
