Are you sure you don’t need a bad breath cure? The problem with bad breath is you don’t know you have it.  Friends won’t tell you to the face that your breath smells worse than cow dung but you will notice they back off to get away from your foul breath when you engage them in a tête-à-tête.

What Causes Bad Breath?

Bad breath is an invisible social plague.  It is colorless, weightless, but packs a ton of foul smell each time you talk and or open your mouth. If you have this bitter taste in your mouth and if people scuttle away when you signal you want to whisper some titillating news, then it is time to look for a bad breath cure.

There are several causes of bad breath. Smoking and downing cups of coffee, gorging on spicy treats, dental carries, sinusitis, and improper or insufficient brushing or flossing of your teeth give you bad breath or halitosis.  Food particles left between teeth and along the tongue area become fodder for anaerobic oral bacteria.  The waste left by the bacteria gives off the sulphuric smell better known as bad breath.

If frequent visits to the dentist and following strict dental or oral hygiene regimen do not get rid of the problem, you may be unknowingly experiencing dry mouth, post-nasal drip, respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, bronchitis or pneumonia.  If your halitosis is due to your dietary habits and smoking, eliminating food that causes bad breath and quitting cigarettes are simple and fast cures for stinking breath.

Natural Bad Breath Cure

Water is an all-natural cleanser; drinking 8 full glasses a day and rinsing your mouth with water after meals eliminates much of the food particles and chewing peppermint and parsley after meals or snacking on onion and garlic smothered food masks bad breath.

Rinsing with green tea is also a good practice because green tea is rich in chlorophyll, an effective bad breath buster.

Try mixing baking soda with your toothpaste.  Baking soda frees carbon dioxide when it encounters acids the bacteria feed on, thereby eliminating the food source of the bacteria. Dissolving baking soda with a teaspoon of apple cider in a cup of warm water freshen the mouth too.

If you cannot brush your teeth, chew a sliver of cheese to counteract the acids sticking to your teeth and your tongue.  This will prevent acid build-up overnight and deter cavities from forming.

Other Helpful Tips

Acid is the life source of the bacteria lurking in the oral cavity.  Sugar rich food especially candies and sweetened peppermint gum candies increases acid in your mouth and intestinal tract.

Highly acidic beverages – coffee and carbonated drinks and citric fruits – mobilize oral bacteria to multiply faster and give bad breath that will spoil your social life and erode your self-confidence. Rinsing your mouth with water and green tea after ingesting these minimizes the smell but it is best to avoid them if you want to get rid of bad breath.

These useful tips for a fast bad breath cure will restore your self-confidence fast.  Why procrastinate?
