Organic Bed Sheets

A few years ago, you would be hard put to find bedding material that was 100 percent natural and organic. If you did happen to find it, the bed sheets would have cost a lot more than anything you would have purchased from a department store.

With more people than ever before becoming more health conscious of what goes into their bodies, many are also concerned with what goes up next to their bodies. Not only are all natural, organic clothes and bedding more comfortable, they also breath better. When clothing and bedding breath better, this is healthier for the body in a variety of ways.

One of the ways our body stays healthy is by our skins ability to breath and rid the body of microscopic waste and toxins. When we are sleeping in bedding and wearing clothing that is made of synthetic material that does not breath well, we are actually hampering our body’s natural function to maintain itself the way the body was designed to do.

Organic bed sheets can be one of the healthier investments you will make for you and your family. The regular store bought bed sheets are generally a blend of polyester and cotton. This will make it easier to iron out the wrinkles but these common bed sheets to not breath properly. Also to consider is how many polyesters did the manufacturer have to kill to make even a single bedsheet? Ok, this is a bad joke.

Polyester is 100% synthetic. It is made from a petrochemical blend. Isn’t it amazing what they can do with crude oil byproducts? Polyester has always been a cheap way for companies to realize greater profits, but polyester has never been considered a material that breaths well. A little known fact is, when set on fire, polyester will only smolder and turn into a liquefied gooey, sticky mess. It is almost as if the polyester is trying to revert back to it’s original state.
It is important to know that although cotton is a natural product that is easier on the skin and breaths well, not all cotton bed sheets are the same. Despite the fact the pesticides are not only harmful to us and the environment, farmers are still using vast amounts of pesticides and other chemicals to grow cotton commercially.

Organic bedding products are made from cotton that is chemical free. Today, cotton is grown organically throughout the world. This is because the demands for all natural, organic foods and materials has been increasing for several years now.

Organic bed sheets will still cost a few dollars more then the synthetic blends, but your body and your family’s bodies will feel better and be healthier using organic bedding.
